Polly's first taste of professional freelance work came in February 2016 when she stepped in at the last minute for a performance of Andrea Chenier with Opera North.

Whist studying at RWCMD she had several opportunities to play with the Welsh National Opera (WNO) and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales (BBC NOW) in a side-by-side scheme and has also been used for extra rehearsal work with both of these orchestras. After a successful audition for Sinfonia Cymru in April 2018, Polly will be playing her first concert with them soon and hopes to continue regular work with them.

Polly has an active and expanding freelance career around the Cardiff and South Wales area, playing regularly with the British Sinfonietta as well as in pit orchestras for shows and other orchestral work. As well as this, Polly is also involved in outreach work for children, and has been a part of the Tiddly Prom at St Davids Hall (Cardiff) and also Toddler Time at the Welsh Millennium Centre.
